A critical incident is when a sudden, unexpected death, crisis or trauma affects a school or college community (for example if a student or member of staff dies). A critical incident may sometimes affect more than one school or college community.
To support schools and colleges to be able to respond with confidence to a critical incident, the Educational Psychology Service is providing training for school and college senior managers during the academic year 2019-2020. This is in addition to the usual critical incident response which the Educational Psychology Service already provides in such an event. There are two places on the training course per organisation. The training is funded by the Local Authority.
